In a Serendipitous Moment of Spontaneity, during a quick stop by McDonald’s, the sign on Certified Fireplace and Chimney drew me in! My husband and I had just recently discussed how we needed to find someone to inspect our chimney and fireplaces. From the moment I met Taryn I was impressed with her warm conversation and professionalism. We thought we were scheduling a simple inspection and cleaning, however with Reed’s thoroughness and training we soon learned that we had a dangerous fireplace that needed to be replaced. Although this news could’ve been devastating, it was not! Throughout this journey, Taryn graciously held our hand through the red tape of insurance. Alek and Sean, while compassionately consulting us, applied their knowledge and amazingly diverse craftsmanship to create a fireplace that we love even more than the one we “lost”. In February 2022, our fireplace had a flue fire which rendered it unsafe to use.

The remedy for this issue included the removal of the old fireplace and flue. A new high efficiency wood burning fireplace, gas log lighter, and flue system were installed. Ryan, Sam, Tony, and Kiel were part of the renovation crew. I became one of the team because we had to work together to complete the work. It was an enormous job!

I now have an absolutely gorgeous fireplace!

I am so thankful we called Sam first, our house could have easily caught on fire, and I may not be here to write this review. Thank you Sam and your wonderful crew!

“I called Sam for a routine cleaning for our fireplace, when doing the cleaning Sam found a major problem concerning our fireplace. The insurance company called another company out to get their opinion, unfortunately that company did not find any problems. Sam was adamant and he proved to the insurance company and their engineer that there was damage to the fireplace that needed fixed.I am so thankful we called Sam first, our house could have easily caught on fire, and I may not be here to write this review. “I only have the best to say about Certified Fireplace and Chimney. I am a Manhattan resident and they took spectacular care of me. We had chimney damage from general aging and tornado winds The fireplace was unusable and not up to code while also being absolutely dated looking. Basically – everything needed fixing and updating.

Sam came by to take a look at the damage and quote for chimney fixing, fireplace upgrading, and fireplace remodeling. He understood my design ideas which just consisted of a bunch of adjectives: simple, clean, and minimalist and he really brought my vision to life. I put my full trust in him because everything he showed me, I was 100% on board with. He was very flexible with doing gas/wood – in the end we decided to stay wood burning.

Sam communicated with us about all delays for materials, and once everything arrived to their desired quality – we booked a time. The workers consisted of Tony and Kiel and they did an outstanding job. Besides their professionalism, they were incredibly respectful, hardworking, and kind. They communicated with me and answered any questions I had. They were truly artists in their craft and I am grateful they were the ones taking care of the remodel! Thank you!”

“This company is definitely customer service oriented. Whenever I had a question or concern or needed more information, I got an immediate response. Reed was very patient and thorough in his assessment of what needed to be done. I had a gas fireplace taken out and electric insert put in. The installers Sean and Aleck we’re excellent. I had a small problem after the installation and they came out without any question and fixed it. I highly recommend this company.”

One of the great things about a foreclosed home is all the hidden surprises. After discovering our chimney needed rebuilt and fireplace replaced we received several bids. It was obviously a large and expensive project we weren’t excited to take on.

Certified fireplace and chimney was reasonably priced and responsive throughout the project. They were able to get the work done in a timely fashion and Tony and his crew were friendly and professional. They even put up with our overly loving dog that kept sneaking in to help.
To top it off we had a family emergency during the course of work and we received a wonderful card expressing their thoughts and prayers for family!
